Care skills and communication
Relevant development areas include respectful personal care, infection prevention, safe movement and transfers, recognising changes that need to be reported, and communication with clients and families. Competency must match assigned tasks.
Credentials and ongoing requirements
Role-specific qualifications, required training and any applicable CPR or first aid credentials are reviewed during recruitment and assignment. Prospective staff can ask about requirements for the position they are considering.
